1910
In August, Blessed Sacrament Church forms a mission church in East Hollywood. On December 25, the first pastor, Rev. Stephen F. Cain celebrates the first mass.

1912
Immaculate Heart of Mary Church is formally established as a parish and is dedicated in honor of the Blessed Mother.

1922
Our parochial school was established and is staffed by the Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Rev. James A. Martin becomes the second pastor.

1938
Msgr. John O’Donnell becomes the third pastor.

1940
Construction starts on the present day 700-seat gothic-style church at a cost of $75,000.

1941
Archbishop John J. Cantwell solemnly dedicates the church.

1957
The Church’s twin spires are added through the generosity of Louis B. Mayer of MGM Studios.

1968
The Religious Sisters of Charity are invited by Msgr. O’Donnell to minister to the school. Msgr. George Cranham becomes the fourth pastor and renovates the sanctuary according to liturgical principles of Vatican Council II.

1973
Rev. Charles W. Harman becomes the fifth pastor. The demographic composition of the parish begins changing to become a multi-ethnic community.

1984
Rev. Carl F. Bell becomes the sixth pastor and continues the parish’s outreach to new immigrants by having Spanish and Tagalog Masses.

1996
Rev. Henry Hernando is installed as the seventh pastor.

2002
Rev. Rodel G. Balagtas is installed as the eighth pastor.

2004
Parish Assembly, “Strategic Planning on Parish Mission and Concerns”.

2008
The parish commits to “HONORING OUR PAST…LIVING OUR FAITH… BUILDING OUR FUTURE…” Capital Campaign.

June 2011
Immaculate Heart of Mary starts its church's restoration and renovation.

January 29, 2012
Immaculate Heart of Mary celebrates its Centennial Mass with Archbishop Jose H. Gomez as Main Celebrant and with Bishop Edward William Clark, former pastors and associate pastors, and other members of the clergy as co-celebrants.
